Often we ignore our backs unless we experience pain. Yet with many important blood vessels and nerves running up and down the spine, the health of our backs is crucial to our overall health. Explore unconscious postural patterns that can contribute to back pain or discomfort, and subtle ways to activate the deeper muscles that support the back.

Registration necessary for the free intro class on October 8th. There will be the option to drop in to the first class on October 22nd and the option to drop into subsequent classes for those who have attended the intro or first class.

All sessions begin with an educational component and then progress to gentle exercises or explorations that are both very doable and effective for most people.

These sessions are not designed to diagnose or treat physical issues. If you have doubts, please check with your medical professional.

June Wing

June is a C-IAYT (certified yoga therapist) and RYT500 (Advanced Teacher of Yoga). But even though she has practiced many styles of yoga for most of her life, she came to teaching later in life after she retired from her career as a realtor. She has always been fascinated with the human body and how it works. She used to puzzle over questions such as why older people lost their mobility, why soccer players tended to have so many recurring knee injuries and why lower back pain was so common.

After doing a few yoga teacher training programs, she was finally inspired to start teaching after being introduced to an awesome prop called the Back Mitra. Experiencing this prop (even though she has never experienced any back issues) and delving into the theory behind this prop totally changed the way she looked at the human body and its potential. This was only the start of more exciting discoveries that seem too valuable not to be shared. June continues to be first and foremost a student. She is currently studying the Franklin Method.
