Christmas Day Self-Care Workshop

  • fünketown 101-7161 West Saanich Road Brentwood Bay, BC, V8M 1P7 Canada (map)

Here's what you can expect:

  • We'll begin our afternoon with an hour of Yin Yoga. Yin is all about slow-paced poses that you hold for a longer time, typically from 45 seconds to two minutes for beginners, and sometimes even longer for more advanced yogis. It targets your deep connective tissues, like fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It's not about breaking a sweat or building muscle; it's more like giving your body a really good stretch and some time to relax. Think of it like a meditative yoga style that gives you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and body. It's great for increasing circulation, improving flexibility, and as a bonus, it helps with stress relief.

  • Cacao Ceremony: Embark on a transformative journey with Grandmother Cacao and ancient wisdom. Set heartfelt intentions for the upcoming year while experiencing the energizing effects of this magical medicine. Rest assured, we'll take care of mindful dosage adjustments if you have specific health considerations.

  • Ecstatic Dance: After the cacao ceremony, elevate your well-being through ecstatic dance. Release what no longer serves you and embrace what you need through free, intuitive movement. No judgments, just authentic self-expression guided by Pachamama.

  • We'll end the day with an hour of Restorative Yoga which is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. Imagine lying on your yoga mat, using lots of props like blankets, bolsters, and yoga blocks to support your body in relaxing poses. The idea is to hold these poses for several minutes, letting gravity do the work while you zone out and relax. This type of yoga is super gentle and a fantastic way to unwind and de-stress. It's like giving yourself a mini-retreat where the goal is to relax and rejuvenate, both mentally and physically. Restorative yoga is especially awesome if you're looking to soothe your nervous system, release deeply held tension, and just take a breather from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

This 4-hour respite offers a haven of serenity amidst the holiday chaos. Imagine a Christmas Day where you can center yourself, set intentions, and dance freely in a judgment-free zone. Let your heart lead the way.
